Mission: 

  • To help visually impaired students become more independent in their studies, thereby making their academic journey easier.
  • To help persons with disabilities fit into a technology driven society

Project: The name of the project is BEYOND THE BRAILLE. It has the aim of helping students with visual impairment learn how to use computer. We are made up of 14 volunteers out of which 4, including myself are Mastercard Foundation Scholars @ Camfed. We are not so inclined in IT but are being driven by the passion to learn and touch lives in special ways. The volunteers are paired up individually with the beneficiaries for one on one training.

Duration: It is a continuous project that spans from the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year and continues through the second semester of the same academic year. It would be continued in the next academic year with newly admitted visually impaired students.
